NEW ALBANY, September 16, 2013 — Inc. magazine ranked HMS Global Maritime No. 1187 on its seventh annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. HMS Global Maritime also received honors as No. 34 in the Top 100 Logistics and Transportation Companies and as No. 23 in the Top 100 Indiana Companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs.

“At HMS Global Maritime, our philosophy has always been to push ourselves to not only be a world-class marine company, but to look for opportunities which help us achieve our goals and set us apart from the rest of the marine industry. I like to say that we never take our foot off the gas pedal. To have the amount of growth we have realized over the past three years would have been incredible in itself, but to do so with a weak economic environment is nothing short of remarkable. It is a true testament to the dedication of the entire HMS Global Maritime team,” says HMS Global Maritime President and CEO John Waggoner.

In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2013 Inc. 500 | 5000 companies is 142 percent. HMS Global Maritime far exceeded the median with an impressive 354 percent.

The 2013 Inc. 500 | 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/5000.

“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500 | 5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do. They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy,” says Inc. Editor Eric Schurenberg.
