About the Client:

The St. Johns River Ferry Service is the link that connects the north and south bound continuation of Florida State Road A1A (SR A1A) along the picturesque Northeast Florida Coastal Highway. The crossing is approximately 9/10 of a mile long and takes approximately six minutes to cross.


Scope of Service:

The City of Jacksonville hired HMS Global Maritime (HMSGM) to handle all facets of the operation including, but not limited to all vessel, personnel and maintenance needs including heavy maintenance activity such as vessel dry docking.

Strategic Partnership:

HMSGM develops the scope of work for each major project. We also monitor the progress of each job and provide regular status reports to the city as work progresses. Because of our attention to detail, the ferry service reliability rate is well above 99 percent during a normal operating year.


HMSGM regularly provides consulting services for a variety of functions including: capital projects and infrastructure design for improved operations. HMSGM also implements personnel training, develops Standard Operating & Safety Procedures, as well as strategic planning to identify future needs.
