JANUARY 23, 2012 (NEW ALBANY, Ind.) – HMS Global Maritime (HMSGM) is pleased to announce that Dietrich Giles has been named the company’s new HSV (High-Speed Vessel) Technical Director. Formerly the Technical Director for Gulf Coast Operations, Giles has been with HMSGM since 2006. As the HSV Technical Director, Giles will have technical supervision of military applications of large high-speed vessels in the HMSGM fleet, where he is been both vital and instrumental over the past five years. His oversight will include technical aspects of the HSV Westpac Express. In addition, Dietrich oversaw the construction of the Austal USA built Huakai and had technical oversight during activation of the HSVs Huakai and Alakai for the Haiti earthquake relief in January 2010. “Dietrich has played an integral role in the construction, maintenance and operation of high-speed vessels we have managed, and will continue to do so as we expand our HSV capabilities as a company,” said Bill Annand, Executive Vice President Seaward Services Inc., the government services division of HMS Global Maritime.
